Threats Answered by Prayer

II Kings 18, 19
In this message we read of Sennacherib who dared to threaten the king of Judah Hezekiah, with a letter outlining how he would defeat him. Instead of falling apart, Hezekiah took the letter and spread it before the God Whom he served and prayed:
II Kings 19:15-19
“And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest (between) the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth….”
People will issue all kinds of threats, and they will even try to stand in your way, but if you have God on your side, you can overcome their menace. Do not fear the enemy, II Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
God answered the prayer of faith. II Kings 19:20 “Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, (That) which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.” Do not fear the threats of men. Bring your problems to God in faith, and He will answer you and plead your case.
