He shall be in you!
John 14:16-17
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but ye know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.
In the winter we cover ourselves with a comforter which protects us from the cold and makes us feel comfortable as we snug into its protection. Here we are in the midst of a cold destructive enemy whose only intention is upset and destroy as many as possible (John 10:10). Even if it does not directly touch some people, they will be terrified with fear of being attacked.
To all believers, think of Jesus’ concern for us. He knew of the different ways in which the enemy can and would attack. By ourselves alone we have no power, but we have been given power over Satan’s attack, no matter which way he comes. Do not give way to fear and all its attributes to confine you. Trust in the God of heaven Who cannot fail.
In Luke 10:19, Jesus said: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Think about it. Over [all] the power of the enemy. Let us accept and use this power from the Comforter and do not fear.
John 14:26-27
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
We need God’s peace which passes all knowledge and understanding (Philippians 4:7) in these trying times. If we are not stable in our trust and faith in God, anyone will be overcome by the enemy. Do not be distracted by the forces which are around. Trust in God and open your heart to accept His peace which will give you comfort and consolation.
Let faith come alive in your heart. Although what we see is real, what we hear is real, what is happening is real; there is still a [Greater Power] Who controls every thing. The One who cannot fail. The One who has never lost a battle. The One who says He will never leave us nor forsake us (Joshua 1). Trust in God (Proverbs 3:5-6); and look to Him for refuge (Psalm 46:1).
Let us receive God’s peace and rest in this place of comfort and protection which will be imparted to us through the Holy Spirit. God’s peace will give comfort to our souls. Stay with God and hold on to His promises which cannot fail (Isaiah 55).
The precious Holy Spirit will comfort us as we seek for this wonderful Comforter to rest, remain, and abide as He comforts our souls.
