Jesus Bore our Sins and Sorrows

Isaiah 54:3-4 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Jesus took on our sins and sorrows when He gave His life a ransom for sinners. He took on the responsibilities despite knowing that there would be great sorrow, anguish, grief, and pain. Yet, He pushed that all aside and willingly gave Himself for us (Hebrews 12). It was a great price to pay which the Father already knew. God loves His creation, and no matter how deep we have gone into sin, He is still willing to forgive us if we turn to Him (II Peter 3:9). It was because of God’s great love why He sent His only Son to die on Calvary’s Cross to suffer such agony and pain.

Matthew 26:37-38 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

Jesus was not afraid to face the sorrow, grief and pain when He came to die for us. He took it all upon Himself and suffered. The cost was great, but He accepted it while we were made free. What will you do for Him? Will you suffer for Christ by taking up your cross and follow Him (Luke 9:23)?

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus came with a purpose to fulfill a purpose. He was willing to obey the Father, and to die on Calvary’s Cross for us. There was no other alternative, and no one else could take His place. There were no options from which to choose; only what was already determined, which meant that He had to go through all the scenes which were previously prophesied by men of old. Indeed, Jesus suffered, bled and died for us so that we might be make whole.

We were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesian 2:1); but Jesus gave His life so that we could be delivered to receive abundant life through His death. This is the demonstration of God’s love to a world of sinners.

Romans 8:5 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

We were not thinking about God, but He had us on His mind. Such love, that God could love sinners condemned to die. Therefore, do not allow anyone to tell you that you are too sinful and God could not love you. He loves you, and will not allow you go into eternity without Christ. Your soul is important to God and that is why Jesus came to bear our sins and sorrows.

There is hope in God, but you must seek for that hope by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart. Why wait? Accept Him now! Right where you are you can ask Him to come into your heart and He will receive you.

Do not look backward on the past. Look unto Jesus Who is the Author and Finisher of you soul (Hebrews 12). Trust in Him today and receive the love of God into your heart. If no one else does, you can believe that Jesus loves you, and that is why He died on Calvary’s Cross for the entire world, including you.
