We can still bear fruits, even in the times of trouble
Just when you thought of giving up, God comes right on time to strengthen and deliver you.
Trust in Him, and do not doubt because of what you see, or hear. God is still our present help in the time of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Trouble does not care where it attacks; it will come at any time in a variety of ways.
Ways in which God Protects His People
Discipline
God’s discipline is a spiritual method He uses to keep us in obedience and to protect us from the enemy’s deception. One of the ways in which God disciplines us is through various forms of chastening [Hebrews 12:5-11] because He loves us. It is also for spiritual growth, maturity, training and strength.
Hebrews 12:5-11, is a passage, which tells us about God’s discipline and why He does it. God reminds us that our earthly fathers discipline us mostly for their own pleasure; but He does it because of His love, and considers us His children. The passage tells us that if we are not disciplined, then we do not belong into the family of God. Discipline is necessary and none of us should try to escape, nor should any one rebel against God’s discipline or the nature of it [II Timothy 4:2].
Through the Word
Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. When God speaks, actions follow (Isaiah 55:10-11). We can trust the word of God which has never been known to fail.
Features about the Word of God
The Word is Jesus Christ [John 1:1-3] God’s word is powerful and reaches the innermost of our souls [Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 4:12]. The word is a discerner, which brings conviction to the hardest heart through the Holy Spirit [Jeremiah 17:9; John 16:8-9]. The word purges and makes us clean in our hearts [John 15:2]. The word is a lamp and a light to guide us [Psalm 119:105, 130]. The word gives us peace in a world of turmoil and distress [Philippians 4:7; Isaiah 26:3] The word is a weapon of peace against the enemy [Ephesians 6:15]. The word gives hope in hopeless situations [Psalm 119:49, 75]. The word is pure, trustworthy, and sincere [Psalm 12:6-7, Psalm 119:89, 140]. The word gives life [John 6:33; John 1:14]
God’s Constant Care
In closing, God keeps a watchful eye over us every day all through the day. The reason why He does this is found in the word where He said, “I the Lord thy God am a Jealous God” [Exodus 20]. He even names Himself “Jealous” to show ownership [Exodus 34:14]. This means He protects and watches over us. God’s jealousy is not the same as what we know. It is not toxic and demanding to cause us distress. Instead, this is one of care and concern for His people so that we do not go astray. He does not want us to serve any other gods besides Himself.
God is passionate about His people and cares about our welfare every day. His jealousy is not fanaticism, but sincere concern so that we do not go back into sin. Consequently, God’s care for us depicts what His name represents “Jealous” to watch over and protect us [Psalm 23]. We belong to Him and He seals His ownership by adopting us into His family through Jesus Christ [Romans 8].
God is faithful to His people, and He expects the same from us. He wants us to be faithful and to reverence His name. He requires loyalty and integrity as we live the Christian life each day. Sin separates us from God and brings destructive results which can be in any form. Until we repent and turn from our sinful ways there will always be disastrous outcomes: individually or globally.
In the Commandments God specifically warns us against idolatry, and the worshipping of idols [Exodus 20:1-5]. Yet, mankind has turned away from Him serving their own delights. We must turn back to God through repentance and godly sorrow, so that we can rest securely under His protective power.
Therefore, we must not go after other gods through worldliness and any kinds of ungodly attractions. The Commandments are for our guidance to do what is right. If we rebel, then there will be consequences, not so much from God, but from the wrongs done against Him, in our flesh and among ourselves. Those results will cause pain and distress. This is a time for repentance.
Receive Salvation
In Ephesians 2:1-8, we read that the grace of God brought salvation through faith. We have salvation, which means redemption from eternal death. God sent Jesus Christ to this world to redeem us to Himself. We were all dead in trespasses and sin; but God, through His great love saved us by His grace. We accept this by faith in Jesus Christ even though we have never seen Him; yet we believe. Salvation gives us hope of eternal life, and protects us from eternal death when we faithfully and obediently follow the Lord.
Although we were dead in sin, we became alive through Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. We now have hope of returning with Him when He comes to take His Bride away. Each person has an opportunity to receive salvation by accepting Jesus Christ God’s Son through water baptism, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit [John 3].
Salvation is free, and we receive this by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. All have the opportunity to receive Jesus by believing that He is the Son of God. No one is omitted, and no one will be turned away.
Why not give your heart to Jesus Christ today, right now where you are. Confess your sins to and ask Him to come into your heart (I John 1:8-2:2). As you receive Him, pray to faithfully and obediently follow Him through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Word.
We pray that you were blessed by these words.
What will you give in exchange for your soul? Receive Jesus Christ today, and be at peace!
