Always Temper Judgment with Mercy

Be Merciful to Others. The next one in trouble might be You!

Mercy is an expression of human compassion and empathy. It is a demonstration of sincere active emotion to release someone from impending judgment whether deserved or undeserved.

We need one another no matter what position we hold. As humans with needs, we should not look only on the substance of an individual’s fault; but take some time to consider ourselves to be in the same place as the one seeking our help.

According to David concerning Jehovah God

Psalm 18:25-27

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright; With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward. For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

Jeremiah 9:23-34

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD which exercise loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

If the great God of heaven and earth, Who is Almighty and Powerful; Great in Counsel and Mighty in Deed, can be so merciful, how about mankind towards one another?

To Those in Power, Hear what David said:

II Samuel 23:3-4

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

God is the greatest Judge Who rules over all heaven and earth; yet He is merciful and kind.

The Bible teaches that if you show mercy, it will return to you. Therefore, those who are in power should use judgement wisely whilst they have the chance.

Power is good when used at the best of times; but when used unwisely can be destructive at the worst of times.

Mercy is the epitome of human understanding, kindness, and empathy.
